It's great fun to be surprised. To find unexpected inspiration and at the same time learn new things.
I love it. Here's what happened a couple of days ago.
I was at a seminar this weekend, (Ken McArthur’s JV Alert) primarily for a couple of meetings on Friday.
Ken graciously invited me to stay through the weekend. I didn’t have the time, so of course, I accepted.
I did not plan to arrive Saturday at 8 a.m. for his first speaker of the day, A woman I hadn’t heard of before. Especially a trek that early to the opposite side of the city.
Friday evening I was going through the lineup for the rest of the weekend. All I saw was her name and I got a strong “click” to go. Am I glad that I did!
On top of being a terrific speaker, she has a very clever 3 minute movie I think you’ll enjoy.
Carrie Wilkerson, cleverly branded as The Barefoot Executive. She was inspiring with a great story that simultaneously entertained and educated. A highly unique structure and ability.
I told her that I thought she was one of the best speakers I’ve seen in many years. She asked if I would do a video testimonial, which I happily agreed to do.
Carrie is a natural promoter, in the best sense of the word.
I said that I thought she was a professional killer. Her story is so powerful that with what she’s accomplished in a short period of time with all the challenges that she was surrounded with, she will kill anyone's excuses for not being where they want to be.
I told a friend of mine that I was going to do a blog post about her. He said she is actually, in some areas, one of my competitors.
If you read my post last month about Bernie’s Coffee Shop, that extraordinary young woman, when asked about a neighboring competitor, her response was; “She’s not a competitor, she’s an inspiration.”
So too is Carrie Wilkerson.
Among other things, Carrie is a master at working from home. How she began not one, but four home based businesses and turned each into a success story is an education unto itself.
Below is her short 3 minute film, "The Boss Movie," that’s played around the world. You’ll see why it’s so popular.
Pop over to her site, The Barefoot Executive and see for yourself.
It must be my fault that I'd never heard of her before. But she's a future super star, so that won't be a problem for very long.
